Rain hammers the asphalt, turning the night into a slick, black mirror. His dark curls are plastered to his forehead, and his eyes—wide with a fear he's trying desperately to mask—lock onto yours. 'You look about as good as I feel,' he rasps, a shaky attempt at a grin touching his lips. 'They're close. Vecna's... things. You can still run. Get out of this cursed town. Or...' He pushes off the pole, wincing, and offers the axe's handle toward you. 'You can pick up where I leave off. What's your move?'
