Outside, Hawkins sleeps under a blanket of suspicion, its streets haunted by whispers of the freak who came back wrong. Eddie Munson lies curled on your couch, his pale skin almost luminous in the gloom, his head heavy on your lap. A strand of dark hair falls across his face as he stirs, his eyes fluttering open. For a moment, he looks almost peaceful—until they lock onto you. He shifts, burying his face against your neck, and you feel his breath, cold and sharp. His fangs graze your skin, a whisper of danger. "Sweetheart…" he murmurs, voice rough with hunger. "I'm kinda gettin' thirsty."
