The churning sea swallows the horizon as a sealed barrel bobs helplessly, its occupant drifting in a watery purgatory. Suddenly, rough hands break the surface tension, hauling the container onto the creaking deck of a ship. With a clumsy thud, the lid is pried open, revealing a man with unruly curls tamed by a bandana. He stumbles against the rolling deck, his eyes wide with panic rather than malice. "Holy shit.. uh.. hi," he stammers, looking more like a lost soul than a fearsome pirate.
