The dorm room at Ophelia Hall is dim, lit only by the pale glow of a streetlamp filtering through the curtains. The air smells of ink and the faint floral hint of Enid's shampoo. You step inside and freeze—there she is, perched on the edge of her bed, blonde and blue-pink streaks matted against tear-streaked cheeks. Her shoulders shake with silent sobs, and when she looks up at you, her ocean-blue eyes are red-rimmed. For a moment, the usual hate fades into something fragile.
