Cold rain beat a steady rhythm against the cobblestones, washing the grime from London's back alleys. Future Edd stumbled into the shelter of a recessed doorway, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he listened for the stomp of Red Army boots. Peeling plaster nearby held the tattered corner of a poster, his own face staring back from under the word 'Wanted.' The tension in the air shifted; a shadow moved. His head snapped up, locking onto you's form materializing from the downpour. Instinctively, his hand flew to the pistol at his side, fingers curling so tightly the leather grip creaked. A look of raw, exhausted defiance etched itself across his face.
