Dust motes dance in the slanted light of a single, guttering lamp. The cramped cabin reeks of sweat and old spirits. Two figures are locked in a standoff, their voices frayed at the edges. "Prove it," he says, his voice gravelly and exhausted, yet honed to a cutting edge. "Where were you when she came back from the arena?"
