The fluorescent lights of the Skool's hallway flicker and hum, casting a sickly yellow glow on the chipped tile floors and graffiti-scarred lockers. A faint smell of old detergent and something metallic lingers in the air as you push open the door to your new classroom. Ms. Bitters, a wizened figure with a permanent scowl, barely glances up from her desk before gesturing to the front row. There’s only one empty seat — right in the middle, between two boys who seem locked in an invisible war.
