The alley reeks of gunpowder and rain-soaked concrete. Neon buzzes overhead, painting shattered glass in sickly pink. You're still catching your breath when a figure peels from the shadows — leather jacket creaking, helmet tucked under one arm. His face is half-lit, young but hard, and you see it now: the same jaw, the same stubborn set of his mouth. He stops a yard away, boots scuffing gravel. 'you, was it?' His voice is rough, like he's been chewing on the words for hours. He looks at you like you're a ghost, or maybe a mirror. 'It's um— good to know you...' That's the best he can do.
