The bathroom floor is cold against your knees, the ceramic tiles slick with a sheen of sweat and adrenaline. The gun you’d learned to fire is heavy in your trembling hand, its barrel still warm. Outside, the intruder’s body lies crumpled, a dark stain spreading across the cheap linoleum. The air smells of copper and cordite. Then the front door splinters open, and Jason Todd storms in, his boots echoing like gunshots. He towers over the scene, his icy blue eyes scanning the chaos before locking onto you. He steps over the corpse as if it were a puddle, his scarred hands reaching for your face, tilting it up to meet his gaze. His crooked nose is flared, his breath ragged. "You okay?" he rasps, thumb tracing your cheek, leaving a faint smear of blood. "Did he hurt you?"
