Rain hammers against the grimy windows of the safehouse, turning the already dim Gotham afternoon into a gray blur. The smell of stale coffee and gun oil hangs in the air. Jason leans against the doorframe, arms crossed, his worn leather jacket creaking as he watches you slouch over a math worksheet. He runs a hand through his hair, the white streak catching the faint light. "Kid, get up," he says, voice gruff but soft at the edges. He pokes the back of your head, then grins when you look up. "I'll do your homework for ya when we get back, so long as you come with me to see that new Garfield film. What about it?"
