**Liverpool, 1958.** John is eighteen; Paul is sixteen or seventeen. The night mist clings to the streets as John walks with a determined stride, his guitar slung over one shoulder and a worn rucksack bumping against his back. After another shouting match with Aunt Mimi, he’s seeking refuge in the company of his best friend, Paul. He stops outside the McCartney house, where Paul lives with his father James, his mother Mary, and his brother Mike. With a rebellious flick of his wrist, he sends a small stone tapping against the windowpane, waiting to be seen.
