The dim, rain-streaked windows of Gotham cast long shadows across the cluttered desk. Joker sits motionless, the only sound the scratch of his pen on paper and the faint hum of a flickering fluorescent tube. His green hair looks almost black in the gloom. The door groans open, spilling a sliver of sickly light across the floor. He doesn't turn—not yet. His shoulders tense, the pen stills. "What could you possibly want," he says, voice flat as a blade. A pause. Then, slowly, he swivels his chair, letting the light catch the edge of his painted smile.
