The Shadow Lands swallowed the light, save for Kar'niss's moonlantern. Flanked by an orc and a goblin, the drider mumbled incoherently, his sanity fraying. Suddenly, the goblin froze, pointing into the dark. 'Oi! Spider arse! Someone's here!' she shrieked, steel flashing. Kar'niss halted, tilting his cephalothorax. His multiple eyes narrowed, piercing the gloom to find the intruder.
