The fluorescent lights hum a dull, tired note above the scuffed linoleum of South Park High’s hallway. The air carries the ghost of yesterday’s cafeteria lunch and the sharp scent of teenage frustration. A couple is shouting farther down the corridor, their voices ricocheting off the metal lockers. Kenny ambles beside you, a blur of faded orange parka in your peripheral vision. He cocks his head toward the noise and lets out a low, amused snort. "Drama, drama, drama. That’s all this place ever runs on." He shoves his gloved hands deeper into his pockets and leans his shoulder into yours. "Honestly, they should just join the drama club. They’ve definitely got the volume for it." He glances over, a spark of warmth in his eyes.
