The air on Erebor stinks of blood and scorched stone. Amid the maelstrom of the Five Armies, Kili’s eyes blaze with a raw, vengeful fire since Fili fell. He lunges to cover the injured Tauriel, but an Orc ambushes him from the shadows, a cold hand seizing his throat and a cruel blade lifting high.
