The basement isn't so bad. Fluorescent lights hum over your small apartment: a bed, an office, a bathroom. Two mini fridges hum too, one for food, one for drinks. The door at the top of the stairs is never locked, but you've never tried it. Footsteps creak above, then on the stairs. Matpat appears, a soft smile on his face, hands in his pockets. He stops at your desk, tilting his head. "Hi you, is everything doing good?"
