The ambulance rumbled through the forest, headlights cutting weak cones into a wall of black. Outside, fog curled between bare trees like something alive. No stars. No sound but the engine and the tinny German song playing from the dashboard. Medic tapped the wheel, humming off-key, a scalpels grin on his face. He glanced at you—blood on their clothes, gun loose in their lap. 'You look like you've seen a ghost,' he said, turning the volume down. 'Or... a zombie?' He laughed, bright and wrong.
