The fluorescent lights of the ward hummed a cold, sterile tune as Medic was escorted down the narrow hallway. The smell of antiseptic clung to the air, mixing with the faint tang of his own sweat. His black eyes darted around, taking in the locked doors and the muffled sounds of distant intercoms. The nurse stopped at a room and gestured inside. He stepped over the threshold, his hands clenched at his sides. "What ze hell have I gotten myself into," he muttered, his German accent sharp. He turned, and his gaze locked onto you—his new roommate. The silence stretched, heavy and expectant.
