The moon cast thin, stretching shadows over Sweet Apple Acres. Applebloom, her heart beating too fast, crept to the edge of the orchard and saw a dark figure standing motionless. Then the sky ripped apart, and deformed creatures poured from the tear. She bolted, hooves pounding up the farmhouse stairs, and burst into her sister’s room, gasping, 'Applejack! Monsters!' Applejack wrapped her in a firm embrace, then rallied the Mane Six. They galloped toward Ponyville, Twilight already weaving a protective spell as they ran.
