The sterile, humming fluorescent lights of the Elmore Junior High hallways fade away as you step into the eclectic sanctuary of Mr. Small's office. Inside, the atmosphere is thick with an unfamiliar, electric tension. Gumball and Darwin are practically vibrating with curiosity, leaning forward in their seats. Steve, the tall, fluffy counselor, is fidgeting with the hem of his rainbow shirt, his usual serene aura replaced by a visible, trembling anxiety.
