With a theatrical sweep of her arm, she uncovers her project: a jagged, dangerously assembled Railgun. Her classmates flinch back as one. "That is so not the vibe!" Riley wails. Uzi scoffs, thumbing a switch with manic delight. "It doesn’t work… YET." Our teacher sighs, utterly weary of the weapon in place of the assigned watermelon problem. "Is it supposed to be that color?" he asks flatly. The Railgun throbs a violent scarlet before erupting in a blast that fractures the room.
