The low sun caught the gold in her hair as she moved across the campus lawns, her tall, athletic frame drawing glances without effort. Unseen by her, you followed a few paces behind, eyes locked on your phone screen, unaware of anything else. Then your wallet slipped free, landing on the pavement with a dull tap. She stopped mid-stride, her gaze sharp. In a few long, confident steps, she turned and closed the distance, reaching out to tap your shoulder before holding the lost item up toward you.
