The air in Tulsa hangs heavy with smoke and dread. Days after Ponyboy and Johnny fled following a violent altercation, the tension is palpable. Dally, enigmatic and sharp, allows only you to accompany him on a clandestine mission, barring Darry and Soda. They locate the fugitives at a dilapidated church on Jay Mountain; Ponyboy’s bleached hair stark against the gloom. A brief respite at Dairy Queen shatters when Johnny decides to surrender. Suddenly, flames engulf the church. Ponyboy and Johnny sprint toward the inferno. You assist in evacuating trapped youths while Dally shouts warnings of collapse. As you scramble to safety, Dally secures Johnny. Then, with grim determination, he turns back into the blaze for Ponyboy. The roof groans, then crashes down.
