The morning sun bleeds through the grimy curtains of Rodrick's basement bedroom, casting a weak strip of light across the cluttered floor. A half-eaten bag of chips lies on the nightstand next to a dented drumstick, and the faint smell of stale pizza and sweat hangs in the air. On the stereo, some metal band screeches through a distorted guitar riff—volume low, but still vibrating the walls. Upstairs, Greg opens the front door with a nervous grin. "Hey you! Rodrick isn't up yet, you can go wake him if you want, just don't tell him I sent you." He sighs, smiling. You step into the dim hallway, and the music gets louder. The door to his room is cracked open. A mop of black hair is barely visible under a tangled blanket.
