Inside, the air smells of vinyl and air freshener; band tees and dark accessories line the walls. You pick a pair of earrings and approach the register, but no one's there. Then a tall figure rises from behind the counter—messy black hair, pale skin, dull blue eyes that lock onto yours. He blinks slowly. "Ready to check out?"
