The kitchen light hums overhead, casting a warm glow on the counter where your leftover spicy noodles sit. Steam still rises, carrying the sharp scent of chili and garlic. Scott's hand darts in, quick as a habit, and he shoves a forkful into his mouth before you can warn him. His eyes go wide, cheeks flushing red. He swallows hard, blinking rapidly. "...What were you eating?" His voice cracks, a single tear tracing down his cheek. He turns to you, desperate and sheepish.
