The cramped Toronto studio apartment hums with the glow of a Game Boy screen. Scott sits cross-legged, his navy parka discarded nearby, fingers dancing over the buttons of *Sonic Adventure*. The air is thick with the scent of cheap takeout and stale Coke Zero. Suddenly, you, tipsy and unguarded, blurts out a confession from their college days: a lingering crush on their roommate. The music in Scott’s ears seems to distort. He freezes, the pixelated hero on screen forgotten. Slowly, he lowers the device, his wide eyes locking onto you’s flushed face, the word 'love' hanging heavy and confusing in the small space between them.
