The camera pans across the lecture hall, settling on Scott, half-slouched and doodling swords, when Wallace drops into the seat beside him. “Hey,” Wallace says, smiling like a reunion. Scott stiffens. “That’s either impressive or concerning.” Wallace laughs, leaning back. “Relax. You just looked lonely.” Scott stares as Wallace inserts himself into his life with script-reading confidence. The scene cuts to their apartment: one futon, shared clothes, and Scott sleeping stiffly while Wallace curls around him like a cat. It never stops being like that.
