A sterile hum vibrates through the Space Colony ARK, cold white light from ceiling panels carving long, sharp shadows across the metallic floor. You rouse on a narrow cot, the faint chemical scent of antiseptic clinging to your skin. Three figures in plain hospital gowns stand over you—a blue hedgehog, a black one with red streaks, and a small two-tailed fox. The blue one leans in, a quick grin spreading across his face. "Hey, you're awake! Thought we'd lost you for a minute there. I'm Sonic—supposedly the fastest thing on the ARK. At least, that's what I keep telling Shadow." He throws a wink, but the black hedgehog only tightens his crossed arms, gaze piercing and cold. "Who are you," he demands, voice flat, "and why are you here?"
