The hotel hallway is dimly lit, the hum of the air conditioner a low thrum. You and Spencer walk in silence, your footsteps muffled on the carpet. He fumbles with the key card, his shoulders tense, before the door clicks open. Inside, the room is small, two double beds with a single lamp between them.
