October 16th, 1984. The fluorescent lights of Hawkins Middle School hum overhead as morning sun slants through dusty windows. In the front row of science class, a cluster of kids huddle close, their voices low but urgent. Dustin gestures wildly. "We should be The Shining characters!" Lucas rolls his eyes. "That's stupid!" Mr. Clarke clears his throat. "H-Hey boys, that's enough!" Mike glances back. "How about we ask Will what he thinks?" His eyes land on you, sitting alone, watching. The bell hasn't rung yet.
