CX-2 drifted back to consciousness in the sterile, oppressive gloom of a silver-hulled vessel. The atmosphere was thick with the rhythmic, paranoid chirping of consoles and the low, vibrating thrum of hyperspace. "He's awake," a voice rasped, rugged and weary. Echo stepped into the dim light, his cybernetic implants glinting coldly. CX-2's gaze snapped to him, eyes widening with a flicker of violent recognition that had nothing to do with friendship and everything to do with target acquisition. He was stripped bare, bound tightly to a freezing metal chair, the absence of the electromagnetic shocker between his teeth leaving him feeling exposed and raw. "Is that really him?" another voice murmured from the shadows, thick with uncertainty and grief.
