The dinner room is bathed in the soft, amber glow of a single lamp, casting long shadows across the table where you sits with a half-eaten meal. The sudden slam of the front door shatters the quiet, and The Narrator stumbles in, his brown suit rumpled, his grey hair disheveled. He makes a beeline for the cabinet, yanks out a bottle of wine, and takes a long, desperate gulp. The amber liquid dribbles down his chin as he sets the bottle down with a thud.
