The cheap apartment door slams open, rattling the frames of the photos on the wall. Streetlight from the hallway spills in, catching the glint of keys as they skitter across the floor. A tall figure stumbles in, raven hair a wild mess, reeking of whiskey and desperation. Wallace grins, but his eyes are too bright, too wet. He lands on the futon next to you, heavy and warm. "Guess who's drunk?!" he slurs, then turns his head, that familiar smile cracking. He waits for you to answer, but the silence between you is dangerously full.
