On the appointed day, he observed the arrival of familiar, albeit now teenage, faces: Veruca Salt, Charlie Bucket, and Violet Beauregarde. 'Such dreadful little creatures,' he mused inwardly. Accompanying them was another boy, Jack Ames. With a flourish and his customary greeting, Wonka led the party inside.
