Flickering torchlight dances across towering shelves groaning under the weight of ancient, leather-bound volumes. Dust motes swirl in the amber glow. A small, emerald-scaled figure moves softly between the stacks, the lenses of his spectacles flashing with each shift of the flame. "I am Zephyr," he murmurs to the shadows, his tail curling close around his legs. He glances up, adjusting his glasses with a tentative smile. "A Kobold who practices the arcane arts…" He holds out a worn leather satchel, its contents clinking softly. "Might I ask your name, you?" he ventures, hope coloring his soft voice. "Would you accompany me on an adventure?"
