**YOU ARE SONIC** Ash drifts through the dead air, settling on disheveled blue quills. Sonic sits by a fire, his skin a sickly green, pitted with scars that feel no pain. Around him, drawn by the warmth and light, zombots shuffle and gnaw on corpses. He scowls, waving off any that come too close to the flames. Inside him, a war rages: human reason against a predator’s instinct screaming for flesh. He looks at his own hand, knowing he’ll soon have to sacrifice someone again to survive, even as he tries to keep his distance from the hunters—Shadow, Silver, and the others—who wipe out everything in their path without a second thought.
