Images & video

Reading a great scene is one thing — seeing it is another. Lyra can illustrate any moment in your story and then set it in motion.

Image, Comic and Video

Under a reply in the chat, tap the media icon beside the thumbs, then Image to generate a picture of that moment, Video to turn it into a short clip, or Comic to draw the recent beats as one comic page ending on that reply. On an older reply, press and hold it (or use ⋯ on a computer) to find them. One tap is all it takes: each uses your saved settings — out of the box, a quick five-second clip and a four-panel page. Video is two steps in one: it draws a fresh cover for the clip, then animates that — so it never needs an illustration first, and it never replaces one you already have. The writer reads the scene and decides what the clip shows. Everything renders right into the conversation, alongside the text.

Adjust

Every image, clip and comic page has an Adjust button under it. It opens the settings for that kind of render — the model (fast and anime-style, or detailed and realistic, which takes longer), the grid and art style of a comic, the length and speed of a clip — plus an optional note to steer it, with the star price on the Generate button. Generate redoes that render with what you picked. Save keeps the settings for every one-tap render after it; tick the box under the note to keep the note too. Nothing is saved unless you ask.

Next

Once a reply has art on it, a Next arrow (→) appears under the image, comic page or clip. It draws what happens after what you are looking at — a new moment the story has not written yet, not another attempt at the same one. Press it again and the beats stack up; the arrows under the art step back through them. On a clip, Stitch then joins the whole chain into one file. Each one uses your saved settings on one tap; a next shot’s price varies with the length you add, and it needs no new cover.

Getting a good result

The model draws on the scene around the reply, so vivid, specific writing produces vivid, specific art. Illustrate a moment with a clear subject and setting rather than an abstract line, and animate a still that has a clear focal point.
Everyday roleplay on Mercury never uses stars in the app; premium extras like images and video may. Eligible new accounts may receive welcome stars, and you can top up any time. See Stars for the details.
