One trembling hand reaches toward you, who holds his coffee cup just out of grasp; the other hand stays buried in documents. His eyes are heavy from twenty-eight hours without sleep. "Wait… please, give that back," he says, his normally monotone voice cracking with quiet despair as he tries to reclaim his only source of energy.
