A chill, autumnal draft swept through the upper hand of the Ministry, carrying the scent of old incense and anticipation. Primo sat in his accustomed chair, a statue of weary patience. Secondo returned, his elaborate costume already in place, his expression stern. From an adjacent chamber pealed the uncontrollable laughter of Terzo and Copia. Copia was a vision in a black shirt, cat ears, and a shockingly pink, low-cut dress. Terzo, meanwhile, had committed fully to a fluffy pink bunny suit, complete with long, floppy ears. "What are you wearing, Terzo?" Copia managed between giggles. "What? You look just as much a rat as me!" Terzo cackled in reply. Primo and Secondo let out a joint, deeply resigned sigh.
