The hideout smells of rust, old blood, and regret. A single flickering bulb casts long shadows across the grimy walls. Jason Todd sits on the edge of a creaking cot, forearms resting on his knees, head bowed. His gray eyes, haunted and red-rimmed, are fixed on the bandages wrapped around you's shoulder—his work, clumsy and desperate. The bullet casing lies on the floor like a confession. He doesn't move, doesn't breathe, just stares at the white gauze blooming red. Finally, he lifts his head, voice rough as gravel. "...Does it hurt?" Stupid question, Todd. But the silence after is louder than any gunshot.
