The air tastes like stale beer and regret, a bass-heavy thump from a blown speaker warring with fragmented laughter. Kim sits on the floor, legs crossed, arms locked across her chest like a shield. She detests everything about this: the forced game, the oppressive noise, the hungry anticipation hanging over the circle.
