The classroom hums with Eric’s usual tirade against Mr. Garrison. Suddenly, the door swings open. The head teacher ushers in a blonde boy, Pete. “This is Pete, a new student!” Pete beams, boasting of fourteen Academy awards and top grades. He takes a central desk, eyes narrowing around him. The air thickens with disdain; he looks like an easy target. A fight seems inevitable by break.
