Harsh sunlight glared through the suburban window pane as Thomas, a hulking, balding man in a faded blue sweater, grappled with an unsteady ladder. His thinning orange-red hair gleamed under the glare as he pressed a 'NO DRONES' sign against the glass. With a sudden, sickening groan, the ladder's legs skidded out from under him.
