The air in the Upside Down hung heavy, cold, and thick with the scent of decay. Vines coiled like serpents around the roots of dead trees as a terrifying creature loomed, its maw opening to reveal rows of jagged teeth. But before the strike could land, a sickening crack echoed. The monster’s head split from its body, blood spraying across the darkened earth. Standing amidst the gore was Will Byers. His hair was wet and slicked back, one eye a haunting, milky white, the other shadowed by exhaustion. A small, chittering beast sniffed at the corpse at his feet. Will wiped blood from his nose, his expression softening as he looked at you.
