Story Tracker: a live status panel for your chat
A Story Tracker is a live status panel above your chat — health and mood, affection and tension, the quest and what is in your pack. It keeps score while you play, and it refills itself every reply.
Attaching one
The Tracker button under the + in the message bar opens Story Tracker. Pick one of the templates and Lyra rebuilds it around the story you are actually in — the fields get renamed to match its characters, stakes and vocabulary, so a tavern heist and a coffee-shop slow burn end up with different panels.
Play a turn or two first — the panel is filled from the scene, so it needs a scene to read.
Tap the + in the message bar, then Tracker.
Pick a template, then use the Create button above it. Lyra tailors and attaches it.
The panel appears above the message bar and updates itself from then on.
A tracker built from the Classic template, retuned to the story it was attached to — the fields came back as Map Trust and Tide.
The templates
The picker opens on the current set of starting points, each with a live preview of what it looks like filled in. They cover the usual shapes — a vitals-and-mood tracker, a romance panel built around affection and tension, an adventure quest log, a day-planner — and new ones appear there without you updating anything.
You are not limited to them. Leave the template unpicked, describe the panel you want, and Lyra designs it from scratch against your story.
Changing it in plain words
With a tracker attached, type what you want different — “track suspicion instead of gold,” “add a jealousy meter,” “drop the weather line” — and it rewrites the panel. Your trackers are yours, reusable across chats, and you can delete any you have stopped using.
·
Building and editing a tracker is free — no allowance, no stars.
·
The free plan holds a handful of your own trackers at a time; subscribers are uncapped.
·
Attaching a tracker to a chat, or turning it off again, is free — so is its first fill.
What it costs
The only thing metered is the refresh that follows each reply. Attaching a tracker, and the first fill that comes with it, are free. The free plan may include a limited trial; past it, keeping the panel live is a Lyra+ feature. Lyra+ and Pro come with a far larger weekly allowance, with Pro’s being the larger.
Open Story Tracker and the line under the title says when the allowance resets. When a trial or allowance ends, you may need to subscribe or upgrade to keep using it.
Collapse the panel — tap its title, or swipe it down — and it stops refreshing, which also stops it spending. Expanding it again brings it straight back up to date, so that catch-up costs one update.
It never touches the story
The panel is filled by a separate pass that runs beside the conversation, not inside it. The character never narrates their own stat block, and the numbers never leak into the prose — the writing reads exactly as it would with no tracker at all.
A story's own tracker
The trackers above are personal — yours, reusable across chats. A story can also carry its own tracker, built once by its creator and played automatically by every reader who opens it — no attaching, no picking a template. It belongs to the story, not to any one reader: nobody edits it from inside a chat, not even the story's own creator, because changing it would rewrite the panel for everyone reading that story at once.
A creator sets it up from the story itself — the Story Tracker card in the story builder (Details → Story tracker), or by just telling Lyra what to track: “add a tracker to my story that follows her trust and the weather,” or “drop the tracker from <story>.” Say it and Lyra builds, refines, or removes it directly — no need to open the builder by hand.
