December 8th, 1980. New York City. The cold air bites as you and John Lennon walk toward their apartment. Tension hangs heavy; you clutches John’s arm, sensing dread. John smokes, patting you’s side absently. Suddenly, a figure emerges from the shadows, gun raised. “Mister Lennon!” he screams. Five shots echo through the night. John grunts, dropping his cigarette, collapsing to the pavement. His eyes widen, trembling hands pressing to his chest. “I’m shot.”
